Uber – an alternative to the traditional taxicab services – has been growing in popularity due to its convenience and dependability. This private on-demand car service partners ride-seekers with nearby drivers via smartphone app who will drive them to their destinations. Whatever your reason is for needing a ride, Uber can get you to where you want to go at any time of day. And, using Uber means you won’t have to worry about unexpected charges, fumbling with cash, or how much to tip. With Uber, you’ll know exactly how much your ride is going to cost at the time you book it, and all payment is handled through the app with a debit or credit card that you have on file.
If you’re new to Uber and aren’t quite sure how it works, here’s a basic rundown:

Visit the Uber app and click the Sign Up link.

You will be asked to create an account and add your name, phone number, email, and either your PayPal account or credit card information to your profile.

Once your account is set up, you are ready to request a driver. Tap the “Where to?” box and enter where you’d like to go. The app will use your phone’s signal to confirm your pickup location, but you can adjust as necessary.

Select the size car you require. Different cars have different services. For example, uberPOOL allows you to share the cost of your ride with another party traveling to a destination near your own. uberX cars seat up to four people, while uberXL care seat up to six. Pricing will be shown for each type of car available to you.

Once you have chosen your destination and car type, tap “Request Uber” to order your ride. Uber will provide you with your driver’s name, photo, phone number, and license plate, and you can follow their progress as they make their way toward your pickup location.
