Whether with your favorite movie or as a snack on the go, popcorn is a tasty treat that can satisfy your salty and crunchy cravings at the same time. While microwaveable bags of popcorn may be convenient, it’s hard to beat the taste of freshly popped, homemade popcorn. If you’re looking for an alternative to those bags of microwave popcorn, here’s an easy way to make your own from scratch:
-
Put 3 tbsp. of oil (preferable canola, peanut, or coconut oil) in a 3-quart saucepan and place on medium to high heat.
-
Put a few kernels into the pan and wait for them to pop.
-
Once those kernels have popped, pour 1/3 cup of kernels into the pan. Cover the pan with a lid.
-
To keep the kernels from burning, gently shake the pan back and forth over the burner as you wait for them to pop.
-
When there are several seconds between pops, remove the pan from the burner and place it right into a bowl.
-
Add salt and melted butter to taste.
