One fun way to spend a weekend afternoon is by baking chocolate chip cookies. Odds are you have enjoyed chocolate chip cookies before, so you know they are a great dessert that can be savored any time of the year. Use the recipe listed below to bake a batch for a friend, a get-together, or yourself!
Here are the ingredients you’ll need to bake chocolate chip cookies at your apartment in Alachua, Florida:
• 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
• ½ teaspoon baking soda
• 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
• ½ cup granulated sugar
• 1 cup packed light brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
• 2 large eggs
• 2 cups of semisweet or milk chocolate chips
First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, stir together the flour and baking soda, and set aside. In a larger bowl, add butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar, and mix together (you can do this by hand, or by using an electric mixer). In that same bowl, add the salt, vanilla, and eggs, and beat until well mixed. Then, slowly combine the flour and baking soda with the batter mixture. After that, stir in the chocolate chips.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough on the sheet, making sure they are at least two inches apart. Bake until golden brown, about 8 to 10 minutes.
