If your busy schedule sometimes prevents you from watching your favorite shows, it can be frustrating to have to wait until the show is played again for you to catch up. However, when you move into our apartments at One 51 Place, you can set up your cable or satellite box with a digital video recorder (DVR) that will enable you to never have to miss a show again.
To make full use of your DVR at your Alachua apartment, just follow these basic steps:
- First, make sure that your cable, FiOs, or satellite box is equipped with a digital video recorder, and that the box in question is connected to your television. You can also purchase relatively inexpensive stand-alone DVRs at your local electronics store.
- While every DVR works differently, in general, you can use the “Guide” button on your remote control to bring up a listing of the planned programming on each channel.
- To select a program to record, use the arrows on your remote to scroll over to the desired program until it is highlighted. Once highlighted, press the “Record” button on your remote (sometimes this button looks like a red dot), and the program will be automatically set to record. If for some reason your remote does not have a “Record” button, you may also be able to set the program to record by hitting the “Enter” or “Select” button while your desired program is highlighted, bringing up a list of options that should include an option to record.
- To watch your program once it is recorded, simply press the button on your remote entitled “List” or “DVR List.” This will bring up a list of all recorded programs. All you have to do is scroll down until your desired program is highlighted, and hit “Select” or “Enter” again to play your program.
Now you can enjoy your favorite television shows whenever you like.
