Nearly everyone has had to deal with the unpleasantness of a mosquito bite. A mosquito bite can be incredibly itchy, causing constant scratching at the bite to relieve the annoyance. Unfortunately, doing so may cause the bite to inflame and become even itchier. A no-win situation, right?
Wrong. Actually, there are some ways to relieve the itchiness of a mosquito bite that wont cause inflammation using product that you probably already have lying around at home. Consider the following remedies:
Applying rubbing alcohol with a cotton ball to the bite
Squeezing the juice of a lemon or lime directly onto the bite
Icing the bite for 5 to 10 minutes
Dabbing the bite with peppermint toothpaste
Applying aloe gel to the bite
Applying apple cider vinegar directly onto the bite with a cotton ball
If other symptoms such as a fever, severe headache, or body aches accompany the bite, it is possible an allergic reaction is taking place. In this case, medical attention should be sought immediately.
