Residents at One 51 Place in need of a fun weekend adventure should consider a trip to the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo. Located on the Santa Fe College campus, this teaching zoo is home to more than 200 individual animals representing more than 75 species. It is a 10-acre zoo that is also a training facility for up-and-coming zookeepers, and accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
The Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo has a wide range of species to encounter, including:

Staff and current zoo students are available to answer any questions, and guided tours are available for a fee. The teaching zoo is open to the public, seven days a week, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Its a fun, educational trip for those who are interested in learning more about wildlife.
