If you love listening to music in our
Alachua, Florida apartments, but don’t
have digital copies of your favorite songs,
you may want to look into it. Sure, compact
discs and tapes might be small and have
the capacity to store a lot of information,
but they simply cannot compare to digital
music files. Digital music never gets
scratched, can easily be stored in one
device, and you will have a hard time
losing it when it’s backed up on
a computer. To digitize your music collection,
all you need is your music in CD form
and a computer with a disc drive.
Follow these steps for easy digitizing
of your music collection:
Download a music storage program on your
computer such as iTunes or Winamp.
- Insert one of your CDs into your computer’s
disc drive. An on-screen menu will ask
you if you would like to add the CD
music to your library. Select yes, and
allow a few minutes for the music to
be copied into your computer’s
music library.
- When the CD has finished copying,
the program will alert you. At this
time, remove the CD that was just copied
and copy another one.
- Repeat the process until you have
copied all of your music onto your computer.
- If you have an established Internet
connection when copying your music to
your computer, the songs and artists
will be correctly recognized and named
for you. However, if your music files
transfer to your computer without a
name, you can always edit them manually
to better organize your collection by
artist name, song name, etc.
- And most importantly, once you’re
done, enjoy your new digitized music
collection!
Before you know it, you’ll have
all your favorite music copied in digital
format just in case those CDs of yours
get scratched or lost. If you would like
